Polyurethane ceramic foam filters are designed and manufactured to optimally filter liquid metal in metallurgy plants and in the foundry sector.
They are an extremely effective instrument for obtaining molten metal purity during the casting process.
The ideal filtering properties of our foam filters are down to the 3D structure of the ceramic matrix. Moreover, they are marked by very good thermal conductivity, both for stability and resistence to sudden tempereature changes.
We offer filter models that range from 5 to 40 ppi (“ppi” is the unit of measurement used to determine the cellular porosity). We also provide large-sized filters, indeed called “BIG FILTERS”.
The LTM staff will be able to guide you in your choice of the foam filter best suited to your needs; sure enough, depending on the molten material, you can choose between three different types of filter:
Sic foam filter (S)
chemical composition: Sic, Al₂o₃, SiO₂
Low density foam filter (LD)
chemical composition: Al₂o₃, SiO₂, graphite
Alluminium foam filter (A)
chemical composition: Al₂o₃, SiO₂
Foam filters with gasket
Each filter type can also be supplied with gasket.
